Taekwondo is an ancient Korean art of self-defense, which combines physical prowess with mental and emotional discipline. The literal translation of the term from Korean to English defines the art clearly: Tae means foot (kicking), Kwon means hand (punching) and Do is the Korean word for art.

The Taekwondo philosophy emphasizes the achievement of balance between body, mind and spirit. Emphasis is placed on the skills and techniques of self-defense, physical fitness and peace of mind, as students strive to develop their personal skills in order to grow in a well-rounded fashion and enhance their ability to cope with life’s challenges. With training, students benefit both physically (increased strength, coordination and flexibility and improved cardiovascular conditioning), as well as mentally (gaining increased self-confidence, concentration, patience, self-control and a positive attitude). Overall, our objective is to help our members attain their personal best by discovering their unlimited potential, while gaining the confidence to explore this potential.

Whether as part of our competitive Tiger Team, or as a member of our adult, children's, juniors' or Paralympic class, this combination of physical and mental training will give you skills that extend to all areas of your life!

Our carefully structured programs are designed to bring out the best in each student we teach.
